Jan. 7 first of eight floor session days in January under tentative calendar
Lawmakers are set to convene Jan. 7, the first of eight floor session days in January scheduled by the Republican majority.
The tentative calendar for the two-year session was circulated this week.
This year's calendar is built around the upcoming state budget, due to be presented by Gov. Scott Walker in February and set to be approved by the Legislature by the end of June.
All weekdays but one in June are set aside for floor session work in the Senate and the Assembly, though not each chamber will use the days set aside now.
The fall period would begin Sept. 17 and finish up Nov. 14.
The last regular session day is set for April 3, 2014, with a limited business period April 29 to May 1 and a veto review period May 20-21, if needed.
