Home brewing bill passes

The Senate has passed SB 395 by a 32-1 vote. The bill lifts some restrictions on the brewing of homemade wine and beer.

Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald, R-Juneau, was the lone vote against the bill.

Glad to see that the rest of the Senate was not swayed by the ridiculous arguments the tavern league put forward about this bill the way Mr. Fitzgerald was.

Excellent job for all the folks who have worked on this! I have already heard from my assemblyman that he is in favor of the bill. Please contact your assemblypersons to let them know this needs to pass, to support the future small business owners of the state (since virtually all of the craft breweries in WI were started by homebrewers)!

Let's all remember Fitzgerald's vote on this bill the next time he is up for re-election.

Why because he actually votes with conviction against a bill he knows will go through? God bless Mr Fitzgerald for standing up for what's right and not just doing what is popular.

Caleb, do you know many people contacted their reps about this bill asking them to pass it? The job of your representative is to show the will of the people they are elected to represent. The problem with modern politicians is that they think they know what's best for the people who elected them. I applaud the ones, either Democrat or Republican who actually listen.
